Church Projects

West End Development of Blofield Church

The refurbishment of the West End at St Andrew and St Peter was completed in April 2016.

The project to replace the damaged and uneven flooring at the west end of the church was completed at the end of March 2016 and the upgrade of the kitchen followed in April. The design of the modern kitchen with a serving hatch, has enhanced the Medieval feel of the building and can be separated from the main church entrance area. The well equipped kitchen enables us to provide refreshments and meals for community outreach, fund raising, concerts, funerals, charity events and meetings.

During the renovations, the footprint of the original Saxon/Norman round tower church was uncovered along with further remains of the older church and a number of graves. The renewed pamment floor has provided a welcoming area at the back of church. This has given the church a light and spacious area for social, educational and religious events for the whole community.

This project was made possible with funding from the local community and charitable trusts.

Redecoration

The redecoration of the inside of the church, including the porch and the West end, was completed in May 2017. The project took six weeks to complete and required four levels of scaffolding to reach the top of the wall around the stained glass window at the East end and the chancel and nave walls.
